More than 10 years ago, the book „Arrival City“ was published in German. As an example of a German arrival city, Doug Saunders referred to Berlin-Kreuzberg and the Turkish guest workers who were brought to Germany as part of the Federal Republic of Germany’s recruitment campaigns in the 1960s. But what about today’s situation? His research now focuses on the the shift of immigration settlement and poverty away from urban centres and into suburban and periphery regions during the last 15 to 20 years. On this evening he will present an update of his well-recieved book and you will have the opportunity to ask questions.
