Ab 5. Januar 2026 gibt es im Lesesaal Potsdamer Straße (3. OG, oberhalb des Osteuropalesesaals) 20 neue Arbeitsplätze mit StabiBox – perfekt für Forschende und Autor:innen! Die Arbeitsplätze in diesem neuen „Forschungslesesaal“ dürfen bereits ab sofort über StabiBooking gebucht werden. Näheres dazu finden Sie unten.

Jeder Arbeitsplatz

• verfügt über einen verschließbaren Container (StabiBox) für Ihre eigenen Materialien,
• ist in einer Ruhezone für konzentriertes, stilles Arbeiten,
• ist buchbar bis zu 8 Wochen über StabiBooking – wie bei den Carrels.

So geht das Buchen über StabiBooking:

• Wählen Sie „Arbeitsplatz im Lesesaal“ → „längerfristig (wochen-/monatsweise)“ → Potsdamer Straße / Arbeitsplatz mit StabiBox (Forschung).
• Wählen Sie den Buchungszeitraum.
• Senden Sie gleich nach der Buchung ein Exposé (ca. 1 DIN A4-Seite) oder einen Beleg über die Anmeldung Ihrer wissenschaftlichen Qualifikationsarbeit an: forscherplaetze@sbb.spk-berlin.de
• Sie erhalten zeitnah eine Rückmeldung von uns.
• Den Schlüssel für die StabiBox erhalten Sie an der Theke Information & Service im Foyer im Erdgeschoss.

Ein Tipp: Falls die Carrels ausgebucht sind, sind diese neuen Plätze eine tolle Alternative!

From 5 January 2026, the reading room at Haus Potsdamer Straße (3rd floor, above the Eastern Europe Reading Room) will offer 20 new bookable study desks with StabiBox – ideal for researchers and authors! The study desks within this new „Research Reading Room“ may already be booked via StabiBooking. More information can be found below.

Each study desk

• includes a secure, lockable storage container (StabiBox) for your personal materials,
• is located in a quiet zone for focused, silent work,
• is bookable for up to 8 weeks via StabiBooking, just like carrels.

How to book via StabiBooking:

• Select “Reading room study desks” – “Long-term (weekly/monthly)”- Potsdamer Straße / Study desk with StabiBox (research).
• Choose your preferred period.
• Send your writing proposal (approx. one DIN A4 page) or a confirmation of your thesis registration immediately after booking to: forscherplaetze@sbb.spk-berlin.de
• You will get promptly an answer from us.
• Collect the key for your StabiBox at the Information & Service Desk in the Foyer on the Ground Floor.

Tip: If carrels are fully booked, these new study desks are a great alternative!
